My trip to Dallas started off poorly. My flight was delayed in Orange County, then when we finally landed in Dallas there was a plane at our gate so we waited 25 minutes only to be told we would now be parking at another gate. Then once we parked, we waited...and waited. Then we were told there was no gate attendant to open the door for us. An hour after landing, we finally got off the plane. By the time I got my rental car and checked into my hotel I was starving and it was almost 2am, so I did what any music guy would do and had an all nighter at Denny's.
When I woke up, I jetted over to the Dallas Galleria to set up the PA system for the Plastiscines in-store performance and walked head on into an ice skating rink. Yes, an ice skating rink in the middle of a mall in Texas. I can honestly say I had never seen anything like this before in a mall. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Picked up the girls from Plastiscines, who are here on the Nylon Summer Music Tour all the way from Paris, France. Everyone was starving so we grubbed down some McDonalds and went back to the store to meet up with Dan Thompson, our contest winner who had just flown out from Milwaukee, WI. Dan was stoked to go shopping and the girls helped him spend his $1,000 in style. After loading up all the bags of clothes, Plastiscines played a solid acoustic performance in the store. It was great hearing their 4-part harmonies over just an acoustic guitar and some egg shakers. Those girls can definitely sing!
After some autographs were signed, we headed down to the Granada Theater for the rest of the rock featuring Plastiscines,Jaguar Love, Living Things and birthday boy Patrick Wolf. This was my second time seeing these bands and I have to say it was for sure on point. Jaguar Love was in the crowd for a whole song and Plastiscines had tons of energy!
By the time the show was over I was ready to crash, so I went to bed, woke up, got on a plane and got back to Orange County an hour and a half late, again. Guess that's my luck!
Enjoy the pics and check out all the bands!
