The PacSun USA Surf Team was formed to represent the best Under-18 surfers in America. Sometimes it's hard to prove that because surfing is such an individual sport.

Last weekend we stated loud and clear that we stand a threat to every young surfer in America at the 1st stop of the 2009 Rip Curl Gromsearch, which took place in Huntington Beach, California.

Taylor Thorne, Colin Moran, Lakey Peterson and Kanoa Igashiri all won their final heats, beating out their competition to take top podium in every contest category of the Gromsearch. Teammate Andrew Jacobson launched a risky frontside air reverse which landed him the "H20 Overdrive Maneuver of the Event" Award.

Not only did these teammates win the Rip Curl Gromsearch, but they won with STYLE - Taylor maneuvered himself into a 9.7 result, Colin annihilated the competition, Lakey pulled a 9.8 - .2 points away from a perfect 10 ride, and Kanoa's performance insured us that he is a force to be reckoned with!
