Somewhere in Florida, a town called Zephyrhill exists. I'm sure that it is beautiful and peaceful, but what makes me want to pack up my bags for a visit is their notorious skatepark, The Ghetto Skate Facility. Smack dab in the middle of picturesque farmland is one of the coolest skateparks in Florida. The perfect spot for the Grind For Life (GFL) Skateboard series.

Grind For Life is a non-profit founded by Mike Rogers, and is dedicated to helping people with cancer through skateboarding. Their 2009 Skateboard Series takes place in 3 different skateparks across Florida.

Mike Rogers wrote us on how great the contest was:

The Ghetto Skate Facility is a great place for the local kids to skate. This was the first contest series event that they have ever had at their park and everyone came out to be a part. We had kids from all over the state of Florida show up. The skating was unreal! The sponsored division had kids doing 540's and 16 trick runs! The 40-and-over division had the likes of Monty Nolder show up and put on a good show also. About 300 people came. The BBQ was amazing - Wild hog, turkey and ribs. I would like to thank Hurley for supplying the T-Shirts for the competitors for the whole series and thank PacSun for being the title sponsor and making it all happen.
